Obituary for John Brian Connors

CONNORS, John "Scruffy", passed peacefully at home on Monday November 21st 2016 at the age of 70. Beloved husband and best friend to Sandy for 37 years. John will be missed by his family, extended family and all of his friends. At John's request cremation has taken place. John's suffering is finally over. A celebration of life will take place at NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME on Saturday December 3rd from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. In John's memory donations may be made to the Clarington East Food Bank through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME 905-987-3964.

Sandy...both Elaine and I were stunned and extremely saddened to learn of John's passing. John was a fine friend to us throughout the days when we first had the pleasure of shaking his hand, likely as not during some union conference where he without doubt made such a positive impression on both Elaine and myself. He always was in my opinion a major influence as a trade unionist but more importantly as a very dear friend. Basically John was the spirit of goodness in all the days that I knew him. Missed? Yes, John will be missed!

I am so saddened at John's passing and my heartfelt condolences go out to Sandy and family. John and my husband Rudi were friends and worked together for many, many years. Since my husband's passing in 2015, John had been my rock and a great friend to me, keeping in touch through e-mail and making me laugh and cry and always lifting my spirits. He will be remembered as a kind, funny and true gentleman.
