Obituary for Leslie Elizabeth Ewert

Print
Leslie Elizabeth Ewert, January 2, 1945 – November 1, 2017

Leslie passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville surrounded by her sisters Andrea and Maggie and her brother Charles. A graduate of Bowmanville High School and the Atkinson School of Nursing, Toronto Western Hospital, she was a dedicated nurse who spent most of her career in the operating room at Scarborough Centenary. Her heart was in travelling, skiing, and sailing the world and those with whom she travelled became lifelong friends. Her love was freely given to her family, nieces, nephews and the young people she knew and nurtured. She filled her free time enjoying music, theatre, and new friends in Probus and at Bowmanville Creek where she had a short but wonderful stay. She was, from the beginning, a strong and independent soul who tenaciously held her ground, even against cancer for the last year and a half. She will be missed and remembered by her family, friends and fellow travellers. Interment at Bond Head Cemetery. If so desired memorial donations may be made to Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or World Vision.
