We were so saddened to hear of Larry's death. Larry was an original, a real character who cared about students and they in turn loved to be around him. I remember so many stories about him and I was often jealous of how well he could get along with his students and co-op employers. He had a genuine way about him that very few teachers have. No one that ever worked with him will ever forget the big man . RIP LTR Marlene , Shawn and family, you are no doubt so sad but at the same time so proud of him and his legacy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Marlene. Larry was one in a million with a heart of gold----- a genuine person. I have so many fond memories of Larry at PHHS. We took courses together and were on the Social Committee for years. We spent many a "Float Your Fanny" manning the PHHS booth shivering in the cold- BUT we had fun!! Leigh fondly remembers Larry coming to teach for him in Norwood. He so appreciated Larry helping him out. We enjoyed meeting up with you "by chance" a couple of times in the recent past. We are both very much saddened by Larry's untimely death as he so much enjoyed life. Unfortunately the news of his death only reached us now as we are in Mexico and the communications routes are circuitious. Larry and I attended CDCI East together many decades ago and then our careers took us on different paths. We reacquainted at PHHS where Larry was an autoteacher. As the vp I quickly learned that he was an exceptional teacher, certainly of auto, but for so many of his students he was also a mentor, a confidant, a supporter and most importantly a teacher of those skills needed to enjoy a successful life. He was a supremely valuable asset for me in my role as his vice principal but more so as a friend. Although we did not cross paths often in retirement, when we did it was always as old friends. Rest peacefully my friend, you have left behind many saddened people over this final episode, but we have all benefited from our contact with you in life.

My condolences to the Robins family. I had Mr Robins at PHHS in the mid 80's,he was by far my best high school teacher. Larry was a funny man along with a sarcastic side that I often witnessed lol. Like many before and after, Mr Robins helped me get a start with my career path. He arranged a placement for Co op and then after I did a pre apprenticeship ,landed me a placement with a Mould maker, where I worked for seven years earning my license. Always helping others and so easy going , he will be truly missed.

Very sorry to read Larry has passed. He was my mechanics teacher in '88 at PHHS. To be honest, I'd didn't like mechanics that much but I loved the class solely due to Mr Robins. A real class act and stand up fellow. My condolences to his family.
