Obituary for Hans Wilhelmus Van Dyk
Van Dyk, Hans Wilhelmus (June 18, 1940 – July 12, 2020)
It is with great sadness that the family of Hans Van Dyk announce his passing on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at The Heart of Hastings Hospice after a brief battle with cancer. Hans passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Hans is survived by his loving wife, Anna (nee: Fenerty) Van Dyk of 54 years. Loving father to David (Charlene) Van Dyk. Cherished Grandpe to Caitlyn (Chris), Johnson (Madi) and Zachary (Rachel). Great-Grandpe to Carter, Caileigh, Alex and Kai. Pre-deceased by his father John, mother Nellie, brothers Joe and Peter, sisters Sjaan and Annie. Survived by brothers Willie and Leo (Carol), brother in law Russell and sisters in law Barb and Nellie. He will be lovingly remembered by his cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Many thanks to the staff of The Heart of Hastings Hospice in Madoc (Tristan, Theresa, Nikki and Teresa) who learned to appreciate his great sense of humour in such a short period of time and who provided him with great care in his final days. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 15, 2020 at 227 Gillespie Road Colborne, Ontario from 1pm-4pm. In keeping with Hans’ wishes the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Heart of Hastings Hospice or a charity of your choice.
