The anniversary of your death will be next week. I still think of you everyday and whenever something exciting happens, my first thought is to tell my grandma-and then I remember she is gone. I love her and miss her.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Grandma Challice is her reading a bible passage at christmas... The readings were always very inspirational.

Great Grandma Challice always had a twinkle in her eye, and would grab you for a smooch on the cheek every time she saw you. Her life passion really was her love for her family. One could never visit grandma and leave empty handed; there was always "a little something" thrust at you with a parting kiss on your way out the door. A caring woman who was active in her community, she always was quick to lend a hand and a smile to anyone who needed it. She had beautiful gardens at her house that I loved exploring, and she loved showing them just as much. Goodbye grandma. I am glad that your suffering is over, but we will always miss you.

I am so lucky to be the oldest granddaughter of Isabelle and Orville Challice. I have been able to share many happy times with them during both my childhood and adulthood. They taught me so many valuable life lessons. They taught me to love God, be kind to one another. love your family, how to be a good hostess, to love yard sales and auctions, to laugh, to sing, to enjoy Christmas and other family gatherings and to love gardening. I can remember when I was around 8 years old asking grandma what her middle name was. She told me Isabelle, which is the name that I had heard people call her by. I asked what her first name was, and she told me Gertrude. I made some sort of facial expression and asked, "Didn't your mother like you?" She smiled and told me that she was named after her wonderful Aunt Gertie who she really loved, and so she was proud of her name. I am named after my grandmother, and I too am very proud to have her name always. I can never express enough thanks to her for all of her love, devotion and generosity she has shown to me, my daughters and my grandchildren. I will always love you, Grandma.

So sorry to hear of grandma's passing.Today would of been Grandma and Grandpa's 70th wedding anniversary and I know that they are celebrating together. Grandma was a beautiful woman inside and out,and was always there when we needed her.She touched many lives and will always be remembered. We would all be so lucky to have the love that her and grandpa shared.You both will be forever loved and missed.Happy Anniversary
