MARTIN, ALEC GORDON – Long time member of the Lions Club of Newcastle. Retired 41-year employee of General Motors. Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Alec, beloved husband of Marilyn Martin. Loving father of Tom, Don (Irene) and Greg (Lynda). Dear grandfather of Kevin (Sarah), Rachel (Joel), Richard, Ian, Michael, Shawn, Emily, Joshua and Noah. Loved great-grandpa of Poppy, Aiden, Judah and Levi. Dear brother of Joyce, Doris and the late Lloyd. A Celebration of Life will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill Street S., Newcastle on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2 – 5 p.m. Donations to the Lions Club of Newcastle or the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation in Alec’s memory would be gratefully appreciated.
