Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 12, 2016 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of Mel for 63 years. Loving mother of Janice Newman (Norman) and Ardena Clarke (Brian). Grandmother of Garth (Emily), Aaron (Krysta), Derek and Jenna (Jacob). Great grandmother of Lucy and Isaac. Alma will also be missed by her siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held at NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St S, Newcastle, on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at Newcastle Fellowship Baptist Church, 200 King St E, Newcastle on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1pm with one hour of visitation before the service. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dalit Freedom Network (www.dalitfreedom.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
